Today, our team at Craft&Repair LLC tackled a unique Porch Railing Replacement & Beam Restoration project in Moraine. The project involved a porch where the homeowner was keen to replace his worn-out wooden railings. Quite a few contractors had suggested he also replace five of the porch’s support beams, stating they were no longer safe. But on careful inspection, we determined that the beams were still robust and didn’t need replacement.

Instead of going for unnecessary demolition, we opted for a more practical solution. We filled the minor gaps in the beams with high-grade wood putty, smoothed them down with a good sanding, and added a fresh coat of paint. The outcome was a revitalized and structurally sound porch that didn’t break the bank.
